Paraprofessional III - Special Education (Grades K-5)

POSITION:                  Paraprofessional III–Special Education (K-5)

LOCATION:                 Woodside Elementary School

HOURS/STATUS:        School Year 2023-2024

                                    Up to 30 hours per week; approximate schedule 8:45am-3:15pm

ROLE:  Work collaboratively in a team oriented classroom to support students with autism and other low incidence disabilities. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Experience with or willingness to be trained in evidence based practices including but not limited to Applied Behavior Analysis and Discrete Trial training.
• Certified or willing to be certified as a Behavioral Health Professional.
• Ability to prepare instruction materials.
• Willingness to be trained in and implement positive behavior supports.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Three years of post-secondary education or combination equivalent to 90 hours of approved study.
• Department of Education Educational Technician Authorization or ability to obtain.
• Strong behavioral management skills, ability to consistently follow and implement positive behavior support plans.
• Demonstrated record keeping skills.
• Proven ability to function as a team member.
• Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50+ lbs.
