DIRECTOR OF ADULT/COMMUNITY EDUCATION

The Director of Adult/Community Education functions as the administrative supervisor of the Adult/Community Education Program for Franklin County. The Director is expected to be able to develop and manage the Adult/Community Education budget; hire, train, supervise, provide staff development, and evaluate personnel in the department; develop and manage the selection and marketing of programs with special attention to HiSET, ESOL, and College Transition programs. The Director will participate in county, state, and national activities that are designed to improve adult/community education. Qualifications for this position include an advanced degree in Educational Administration (master’s degree preferred) and Maine DOE Adult Education Director Certification (066).
The Adult/Community Education program is administered from the Mt. Blue Campus site that is located in Farmington, a community in the foothills of Western Maine. This is an excellent recreational area for all seasons, as well as being near Sugarloaf USA and Sunday River, two nationally recognized resorts. The area has a hospital, is home to the University of Maine - Farmington, and is made up of communities that value education opportunities for all.
