Educational Technician I


This part-time (29.5 hours per week) position is open for the academic year. Responsibilities
include assisting students in grades 9 - 12 in all high school subjects and working with
students in a variety of mainstream classes. Maine Central Institute (MCI) is looking for a
candidate who is positive, flexible, and willing to learn. Preference will be given to those with
prior experience or training in behavior. The candidate must be able to work independently.
The work environment is highly team-oriented, so communication and problem-solving skills
are essential.


Qualifications
* Candidates must have at least a high school diploma or GED; additional
post-secondary coursework and degree preferred.
* Candidates must hold current Ed Tech I State certification along with current State
DOE authorization.
* Candidates must be able to climb stairs and lift up to 40 pounds.
* Candidates must be willing to be trained as per safety care and protocol.
* Proficiency in use of instructional technology.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with students, peers, and
supervisors.


Job Requirements

Benefits
This position pays an hourly wage without benefits. Pay is based on experience using the
salary scale. Ed Tech I with 0-3 years experience would start at $15.00 per year.
