Description
Special education IEP coordinator:
Maine Criminal History Background Check Certificate.  Experience working with K-8 students.  Candidates will be familiar with and be able to complete required State Special Education paperwork associated with case management and provision of Special Education Services. The candidate will hold appropriate certification defined by the Maine Department of Education and CHRC.
 

A successful candidate will be able to provide instructional support to classroom teachers in overseeing the delivery of special education services. Oversee all aspects of IEP development, diagnostic assessments and annual/triennial reviews. Facilitate IEP process, information exchange, preparation and scheduling for IEP meetings. Additional responsibilities might include:

o Provide guidance and assistance for special ed. staff 

o Student observations 

o Professional Development with staff 

o Attend eligibility meetings and IEP meetings as the facilitator 

o IEP online reports – manage and monitor due dates for IEP and eligibility meetings  Compliance 

o Monitor IEP’s for correct formats, goals, services, progress reporting, goal progress, and alignment to the eligibility team

The candidate will be communicating and collaborating with colleagues, administrators, parents, students, and community members.  The candidate must be able to demonstrate flexibility, creativity, and optimism as an educator, leader, and learner.
