Our Children’s Services Department, Paris Early Learning Center, is hiring a Teacher 2 in our Pre-K program. This position is part of our collaborative Pre-K program at the Paris Elementary School. This position is part of a teaching team that plan experiences to meet young children’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development, and engages with families in meeting both their children’s and family’s needs. Other responsibilities include completing paperwork, reports and maintaining records and data on individual children. Travel within the service area is required. This position is 40 hours/week for 38-40 weeks/year. Effective January 31, 2022, the Head Start Program Performance Standards, to which Community Concepts is contractually bound, will be requiring all Head Start staff to comply with its universal masking policy and be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 unless they have an approved medical/disability or religious exemption, in which case they must test on at least a weekly basis and have a negative test to remain in the classroom. Qualifications: An Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field is required; Ed Tech II certification or ability to obtain certification required. Experience in an early childhood setting is required.
Other Requirements: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; considerable stamina to regularly lift, bend, carry and perform other high energy activities; a valid driver’s license; telephone; computer/word-processing skills, preferably Microsoft Office; ability to function autonomously and as part of a team. Pre-employment physical, TB screening, SBI, DMV, DHHS, Maine Sex Offender Registry and federal debarment background checks must be completed upon offer of hire and as a condition of employment.
