United Technologies Center (UTC) is currently accepting applications for full-time instructor starting the end of August 2024 for the following:

Heavy Equipment/Diesel Technology Instructor (HEQ) with the goal of preparing students to successfully prepare for and pass the related ASE exams and future employment and college.

Experience teaching at the high school and/or college level preferred.
At least three years of successful full-time equivalent Heavy equipment/Diesel experience is required.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Instructing students in the fundamentals of Diesel technology, including engine repair, electrical systems, Air breaks and diagnostics.
  • Developing and delivering hands-on, project-based lessons to enhance students' technical skills.
  • Collaborating with administration, staff, and industry professionals to continuously improve the automotive technology curriculum.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in the Heavy Equipment/ Diesel industry, with a strong background in equipment repair and maintenance.
  • ASE certifications are preferred for program accreditation purposes.
  • Certification in Heavy equipment/diesel technology or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for mentoring and guiding students toward successful careers in the automotive industry.
  • Certified Maine CTE Instructor with the Department of Education
