Description:
We are looking for a caring, warm, flexible person to add to our preschool & aftercare team to cover breaks and lunches for our teaching staff and to assist with supervision during our aftercare program. We are looking for someone who is a positive role model, energetic, and enjoys being around young children.
In addition to the following schedule, the Float would be a substitute during parent-teacher conferences at the preschool level. They could also be on-call for other sub positions throughout the school.
Monday - Friday Schedule:
11:30 - 12:30 - Help transition students to recess, help provide supervision during recess.
12:30 - 1:30 Assist with lunch supervision, transition into afternoon rest time.
1:30 - 3:30 Assist with afternoon activities (rest time, read-aloud, student clean-up jobs, outside time)
3:30 - 4:00 Break (paid)
4:00 - 5:00 Assist with aftercare supervision, lock doors, check playground for toys/garbage/etc. (school is over at 4:45, but there might be end-of-day tasks to be finished).
(Paid) Staff Meetings twice per month 7am-8am.
Note: We are willing to consider these alternate schedules
- 8:45 am - 4:45 pm, for candidates who prefer full-time employment
- Either time schedule, three days per week (preferably Tues-Thursday-Friday)
Benefits:
- Paid Time Off: .025 hours earned per 1 hour worked, unused time is paid at the end of the school year.
- Professional Development: The school pays for training in Positive Discipline and basic Montessori
- Paid "Snowdays": If school is canceled due to weather (or some other unexpected reason), hourly employees are paid for the hours for which they were scheduled.
- Overtime (for 40+ hrs per week)
Qualifications
Need to have: classroom/childcare experience, high-school diploma
Nice to have: Montessori experience
Compensation/Information
In addition to the listed benefits, hourly pay commensurate with experience and education, eligibility for tuition scholarship for staff children, beautiful work environment, supportive staff, and community, Montessori trained head of school, and non-parent board of directors.
