Description

Falmouth Public Schools is looking for a creative and dynamic Theater Director for the 2024/25 school year’s co-curricular theater program. Our theater director will have leadership and oversight responsibility for all aspects of the after school theater program, and be responsible for at least three productions per year, including a musical and a one act play that has historically been entered in state and regional competitions. 

 

The successful candidate will:

 

  • have extensive experience in all aspects of production, a rich knowledge of the repertoire available and appropriate for a high school theater program,

  • an appreciation and passion for working with adolescents,

  • collaborate with building (school leaders, theater technical director, speech coach) and community stakeholders (including area theater companies and a strong booster organization),

  • effectively communicate with students, staff members and parents, 

  • provide supervision at all events, rehearsals and competitions, and work evenings and weekends as necessary, 

  • maintain an updated inventory of equipment (costumes and supplies), and

  • develop and manage the program budget, and work with the FPS Communication Director on press releases and marketing.

Falmouth Schools are located on a 100-acre district K-12 campus in Falmouth Maine, a coastal community bordering the city of Portland.  Our campus features extensive fields, trails, gardens and hoop houses, and rich opportunities for collaboration between schools.  Over the past decade, each of our three schools in the district has been a recipient of the National Blue Ribbon Award: student achievement is exemplary and the community takes great pride in all academic, co-curricular, and athletic accomplishments. Additional:

The successful candidate must have or be eligible for an approved State of Maine fingerprinting certification and background check (run by the district).

Stipend Amounts:

  • Fall Production - $4709.47
  • Spring Production - $ 4,709.47
  • One Act - $ 4709.47
