Job Description:

 

The Kittery School District is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Part-Time Technology/Safety Director. This role will encompass two primary responsibilities: overseeing the District's technology initiatives and managing safety measures within the school environment.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Technology Director (2 days/week):

 

  • Manage and lead the District's technology team, consisting of four dedicated employees.
  • Oversee and conduct regular inventories of the District's technology assets.
  • Develop and execute the technology maintenance plan to ensure optimal functioning of all systems.
  • Implement and monitor the District's technology plan, ensuring alignment with educational goals.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Curriculum regarding technology-related professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Stay informed about technological advancements and recommend upgrades or enhancements as needed.

 

Safety Director (1 day/week):

 

  • Serve as the District's Safety Director, overseeing both technical and procedural aspects of school safety.
  • Manage surveillance systems, building access controls, and cybersecurity measures.
  • Collaborate with the District's Health & Safety Team to ensure a comprehensive response plan to emergencies and crises.
  • Develop and execute the Health & Safety Plan, incorporating best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training to staff on all dimensions of the Health & Safety Plan.
  • Work closely with the school resource officer and local public safety officials to enhance overall safety measures.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Technology, Information Systems, Safety Management, etc.).
  • Proven experience in managing technology teams and overseeing technology assets in an educational setting.
  • Familiarity with educational technology trends and best practices.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of safety and security protocols, with experience in emergency response planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Working Conditions:

 

  • This is a part-time position requiring 2 days/week for technology-related duties and 1 day/week for safety-related responsibilities.



You must be able to pass a background test through the State of Maine Education Department.
