Position Overview: MSAD 61 is seeking a dedicated and culturally responsive Educational Technician to join our team in supporting Multilingual Learners (MLLs). The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the District’s Multilingual Learner Consultant and classroom teachers to provide instructional and social-emotional support to students from diverse linguistic backgrounds.

 QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Associates degree  - REQUIRED
  2. Ed Tech Certification and fingerprinting - REQUIRED
  3. Middle and High school experience – PREFERRED

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist and guide MLL students to reinforce reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills across all content areas.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and accommodations specifically outlined in each student's Individual Language Acquisition Plan (ILAP) to ensure equitable access to grade-level content.
  • Tracks student progress toward the specific linguistic and academic goals identified in the ILAP.
  • Collaborate regularly with the District’s Multilingual Learner Consultant to review plans, verify correct implementation, and ensure classroom activities align with ILAP's specialized instructional strategies.
  • Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement specialized English language development programs.
  • Assist in preparing and modifying instructional materials and strategies to suit the individual linguistic and academic needs of students.
  • Construct, copy, and distribute educational materials designed to make content accessible (scaffolding).
  • Assist professional staff in the administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests, and language proficiency assessments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student learning, progress, and performance to assist in data-driven instruction.
