 We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to support the Amp Up Mentoring program within the Waterville Childcare Program with the primary goal of increasing positive social emotional skills and supporting academic engagement among the children. This role involves monitoring mentor/mentee matches, supporting mentors, assisting with training and events, and contributing to program evaluation and outreach. The ideal candidate will be passionate about youth development, capable of stepping in for the Mentor Program Manager as needed, and committed to promoting social-emotional growth and academic engagement among participants. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Monitor and support mentor/mentee matches throughout the year.
  • Engage in data collection, reporting, and evaluation support in the Amp Up Program.
  • Assist in marketing the mentoring program including creating social media posts, newsletters, and news releases.
  • Assist in keeping accurate and adequate records of mentor programs participants’ attendance, participation details, and progress.
  • Assist in training and event preparations throughout the year.
  • Assist in conducting interviews for mentor positions.
  • Strive to encourage positive social development, emotional communication skills, and academic interest within the mentor matches.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED, some college course work in youth development or a related field is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 2 year’s experience working with school age youth in a school or childcare setting.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification or ability to obtain certification

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday; 15-18 hours per week during the school year / 20-25 hours per week during the summer
