RSU5 is seeking a knowledgeable, self-starting, team-oriented person to become part of a collaborative team working together to provide specially designed instruction in academics, executive functioning, and social-emotional skills, to students with varying exceptionalities. Strong teacher leadership skills, organizational skills, communication skills, collaboration skills, flexibility, and the ability to multi-task and think quickly are required to carry out the duties of this job. The candidate needs a versatile skill set, and a willingness to proactively and creatively find ways to reach, teach and support students. The candidate will plan and deliver specialized instruction, manage an assigned caseload, maintain regular communication with parents, support staff and related service providers and develop, revise and implement IEPs.
Requirements:
(282)- Teacher of Students with Disabilities certification from Maine Dept. of Education.
