Special Education Teacher

The successful candidate must have a ME Teacher Certificate with a 282 Endorsement.
Responsible for working with students with a variety of learning needs, case management, IEP development, oversight of educational technicians, and collaboration with general education teachers. Students may need academic, organizational, social skills, or behavioral instruction. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of best practices in reading, writing, and mathematics using a variety of programs.
The successful candidate will be able to:
- Create and implement IEPs
- Collect and interpret academic and behavioral data
- Complete required paperwork in a timely manner
- Supervise educational technicians
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and adapt curriculum
- Provide specially designed instruction to students in the core curriculum when needed
- Execute positive behavior support plans
