Spanish Teacher - Central High School

RSU 64 is seeking to fill a vacancy for a Spanish teaching position at Central High School in Corinth, Maine. This position will be available for the 2024-2025 school year and beyond. Classroom responsibilities include:

Teaching 9-12th grade Spanish courses;

Designing and implementing engaging lessons with clear learning targets;

Integrating language curriculum into various other content areas like music and art; and

Building capacity among the student population regarding languages and cultures. 

 
REQUIREMENTS:

• Current State of Maine teaching certification in World Languages, or willingness to obtain within 3 years
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Maine Learning Results
• Experience teaching world languages and cultures; experience in international travel preferred
• Knowledge in the unique needs of high school language learners
• Experience on how to effectively use technology as an input source for knowledge
• An understanding of a learner-centered standards-based education
• Proven ability to function as a contributing member of a team
