Long Term Substitute ELA Teacher

Freeport High School

Freeport High School is seeking a long-term substitute ELA teacher who will provide rigorous, high-quality instruction and support to our students. Experience with high school teaching is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree (four year) from an accredited institution.
2. Classroom teaching experience preferred as well as experience with standards-based instructional strategies.
3. Completed fingerprinting in accordance with school requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Ability to create and maintain positive relations with students, school personnel, and parents.
2. Ability to collaborate with the appropriate stakeholders to maintain high quality instruction and student support.
3. Demonstrates sound judgement and effective communication skills.
4. Ability to be reflective on instructional practices in order to enhance student achievement.
5. Fulfills all performance responsibilities of an ELA Teacher in a high school setting.

Requirements:

Must have CHRC certification from Maine Department of Education.

Position remains open until a suitable candidate is found.
