Ellsworth High School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teachers to join our high school team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Design and deliver engaging lessons adapted to meet individual student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and differentiated instruction
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate records
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on student goals and accommodations
- Stay current with best practices in special education and instruction
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Valid state teaching license with endorsements in Special Education
- Experience teaching high school students with diverse learning needs
- Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students with special needs
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with co-teaching models
- Knowledge of transition planning for students with disabilities
- Proficiency in using educational technology and learning management systems
