RSU 3 is currently seeking a highly skilled Social Worker to work with students from grades 6 to 8 for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year.


  1. Fully Licensed LCSW
  2. At least 2 years experience working in a rural area is preferred.
  3. Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, Master’s Degree preferred. 



  1. Must be a skilled communicator, have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and high professional standards.
  2. Support and foster a team environment in order to best meet the needs of the students.
  3. Provides direct services to students in order to help students understand their own personal behaviors, reactions, and emotions.
  4. Performs casework service with individual students to help correct personal, social, or emotional issues related to their educational and social progress.
  5. Consults and collaborates with other school personnel in collecting relevant and needed information, and in establishing and planning for respective roles in the modification of the student’s behavior. In the case of a special education student, the Social Worker will support those goals established by the IEP and will assist the special education case manager assigned to the student.
  6. Other duties assigned by administration.

    RSU 3 is located in rural Waldo County and includes the towns of Brooks, Freedom, Jackson, Knox, Liberty, Monroe, Montville, Thorndike, Troy, Unity, and Waldo.
