Interested in making a difference in the lives of young elementary school age children? The Children’s Center is seeking a Special Purpose Private School Teacher to work one on one with children in grades K-3 who are not yet ready to enter public school. Daily activities are focused on their behavioral, communication, independence skills, and academic goals specialized for each child in accordance with their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.

The Special Purpose Private School Teacher will work with a Master's level Clinician and Special Education team in the classroom following the daily activity and academic schedule with accommodations specialized for each child's needs. Staff in this position conduct one-on-one or small group instruction, perform classroom management, and complete daily data collection and documentation.

Applicants must provide documentation that they have at least 90 college credit hours and have or be eligible for Maine Department of Education certification as an Ed Tech III. It is essential, as part of this multi-disciplinary team, to have a positive attitude, high energy level and the ability to think creatively. Children’s Center will provide BHP training, CPR/First Aid and Safety Care certification, and Master’s level clinical supervision.
