Maine School Administrative District #60 is seeking a dynamic and visionary instructional leader to serve as the next Principal of Hanson School located in Lebanon, Maine.
Hanson School serves approximately 310 Pre-K through third grade students, supported by a dedicated staff of 62. Our educators are committed to cultivating a learning environment that is academically rigorous, developmentally responsive, and inclusive. We strive to challenge all students through high expectations, while fostering their growth socially and emotionally through strong relationships and purposeful, student-centered instruction.
We are seeking a leader who not only honors the strong traditions of the school, but also brings the foresight to guide thoughtful progress. The ideal candidate will continue to build on the school’s strong foundation, foster a spirit of collaboration, and lead the community in sustaining innovative practices and pursuing ongoing growth and improvement.

Demonstrate a strong foundation in instructional leadership, with extensive experience as an elementary classroom educator and a deep understanding of research-based practices and meaningful assessment strategies.
Offer expertise in curriculum and learning frameworks, particularly in the areas of competency-based education and developmentally appropriate instruction.
Foster a safe and supportive school climate by applying trauma-informed practices that meet the diverse needs of all learners.
Bring a broad and varied background, including professional experiences and affiliations that enrich our district leadership team with new perspectives and collaborative energy.
Thrive in evolving environments, with a proven ability to unify stakeholders, adapt with purpose, and lead with both empathy and vision.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree or higher in Educational Leadership.
Maine certification (or eligibility) as a School Principal.
Demonstrated success in administrative leadership at the elementary level.
A commitment to the academic and social growth and development of all children.
The ability to cultivate strong relationships while moving strategic priorities forward with clarity and purpose.
