North Yarmouth Academy (NYA) seeks a full-time Elementary Teacher to teach fourth grade in our supportive, nurturing Lower School. This person will work closely with our other fourth grade teacher and will have the opportunity to teach fifth grade the following year. Our program incorporates small classes, rich and open learning environments, student-centered instruction, and a curriculum that emphasizes academic and social growth while promoting a sense of community. This is a full-time school year position beginning fall 2025 with a comprehensive benefits package, including tuition discount.
We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about working with upper elementary children and is eager to be a part of a vibrant Pre-K through PG community. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree (ideally in Elementary Education or related field); warmth and generosity of spirit; dedication to meeting the needs of each child; enthusiasm for teaching engaging and lively lessons; the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues; and demonstrated experience in the classroom. Strong competency in literacy is desired, and experience working in an independent school environment is a plus.
