Music Teacher -- MDIHS

Join us at Mount Desert Island High School (MDIHS) in Bar Harbor, Maine, home of Acadia National Park! MDIHS is looking for a music teacher to oversee and direct its renowned instrumental music program. Curricular duties may include directing the symphonic/pep band and orchestra teaching A.P. Music Theory, and offering pullout lessons and sectionals throughout the school day. Additionally, there are opportunities to work with extracurricular jazz ensembles and the Tri-M Honor Society as well as design and teach additional courses. The successful candidate will work regularly with a team of music teachers at MDIHS and throughout the district. The ideal candidate is engaging, energetic, an active musician, a lifelong learner, and student centered. MDIHS offers a healthy and supportive working environment with teacher autonomy and opportunities for professional development and growth.
