to fostering academic success and social-emotional growth in every child. Our school is located in the heart of Lamoine, Maine, where we take
pride in our close-knit community and commitment to educational excellence.
The School Nurse will serve as the primary health care provider within the school setting and will be responsible for a wide range of
student health services, including but not limited to:
- Provide direct care to students who are ill or injured, including first aid and emergency response.
- Assess and monitor students; health status, identifying acute and chronic health conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and in compliance with policies.
- Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, growth, etc.)
- Maintain and update accurate student health records, including immunization data.
- Develop individualized healthcare plans for students with special medical needs.
- Promote health education for students, staff, and families.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and community health providers to support student health care needs.
- Monitor and help control communicable diseases in compliance with state and local health guidelines.
- Partcipate in emergency preparedness planning and communication.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Maine
- Bachelor of Science certification or eligibility preferred (if applicable).
- Experience working with school-aged children or in pediatric/community nursing preferred.
- Current CPR/First Aid and AED certification
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering a positive, health-focused school environment.
