We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Licensed Clinical Psychologist/Certified School Psychologist to join our team in a dynamic educational setting. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in psychological evaluation, clinical leadership, and collaboration with school staff, families, and external agencies to foster student well-being and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Psychological Evaluations: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and academic functioning for students with various needs. Provide recommendations to support individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral interventions.
  • Clinical Leadership: Lead and mentor school-based teams in addressing mental health and behavioral challenges.
  • Collaboration and Problem Solving: Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents, to develop and implement effective interventions. Utilize a collaborative problem-solving approach to address student needs, advocating for appropriate accommodations and services within the school system.
  • Counseling and Support: Potentially provide individual and group counseling to students as needed, addressing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges. Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive school climate.
  • Training and Consultation: Provide training to school staff on mental health, behavior managements, and effective intervention strategies. Offer consultation to parents and teachers regarding student needs and potential interventions.

Qualifications: 

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology - required
  • Current Maine State Licensure as a Psychologist - required
  • DOE Certification as a School Psychologist - required
  • Strong expertise in the administration and interpretation of psychological assessments and tests - required
  • Experience inproblem-solving and applying evidence-based interventions to support student outcomes - required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in school psychology or a related field with a proven track record in psychological evaluations and clinical leadership - preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring school teams, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of school-wide mental health programs - preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders - preferred
  • Knowledge of special education law, IEP development, and 504 Plan processes - preferred
  • Familiarity with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) - preferred
  • Training in evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as CBT, DBT, or trauma-informed care - preferred
