Purpose
Fryeburg Academy, a 700-student day and boarding high school in Western Maine and the Mount Washington Valley, seeks an individual to join their Dining Hall Team who prizes hard work and professionalism and who seeks a rewarding career in our newly renovated dining hall. This position involves working alongside the Food Service Director and other kitchen staff. The ideal candidate will interact with the students and staff as well, so an outgoing and friendly personality is a plus. The Fryeburg Academy community encompasses students and staff from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, and with a range of academic interests and skills.

- Ability to work fast and efficiently in a fast paced environment
- Maintain a high level of quality and be aware of allergens present in food in order to inform guests.
- Must be ServSafe certified, have a clean appearance and positive friendly demeanor
- Have excellent time management skills and ability to stay on task
- Uphold a sense of urgency while maintaining a calm and polite demeanor toward others
- Be willing to help in dish room if needed
- Maintain a clean work station and appearance
- Perform preparation duties such as rinsing, peeling, slicing and dicing fruit and vegetables
- Possess knowledge of and adherence to sanitation and safety regulations including correct serving temperatures and portion control
- All other duties as assigned
Additional Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended hours and be able to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to prioritize in a school setting
- Professionalism and positive interpersonal skills
- The opening available is part-time (up to 30-hours/wk) with a potential of full-time for the ideal candidate.
- Daytime hours, Monday through Friday
Qualifying Education and Experience
- Experience in a professional kitchen is a plus, but not required.
- High School Diploma, GED or suitable equivalent.

- All Fryeburg Academy employees are subject to and must hold a Maine Dept. of Education Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) Approval.
