Falmouth Elementary School is seeking a dynamic and innovative full-time Special Education Case Manager for behavior students starting in the 2024-2025 academic year. The Special Education Behavior Program Case Manager for grades 3-5 manages and supports students with behavioral and emotional challenges. This role involves developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), providing direct instruction and behavioral interventions, collaborating with teachers and support staff, and maintaining consistent communication with parents and guardians. The case manager will create a supportive and structured environment that promotes student growth and success.




Case Management


  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.

  • Conduct assessments and gather data to inform IEP goals and objectives.

  • Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and IEP documentation.


Direct Instruction and Behavioral Support:


  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in both individual and group settings.

  • Implement evidence-based behavioral interventions and strategies to address students' behavioral and emotional needs.

  • Utilize positive behavior support techniques to foster a safe and productive learning environment.

  • Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum and instruction to meet students' needs.


Collaboration and Communication:


  • Work closely with general education teachers, special education staff, school psychologists, and other related service providers to support student success.

  • Facilitate IEP meetings and communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and outside agencies.

  • Provide guidance and training to educational assistants and paraprofessionals working with students.

  • Participate in professional development and stay current with best practices in special education and behavior management.


Student and Family Engagement:


  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and their families.

  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavior.

  • Provide resources and support to families to help them understand and address their child's needs.


School-wide Support:


  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide behavior support plans and initiatives.

  • Collaborate with school administration to promote a positive and inclusive school climate.

  • Serve as a resource for staff on behavior management and special education issues.




  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education.

  • Valid state teaching license with a special education endorsement.

  • Additional certification in behavior management or related areas is a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to develop and implement effective behavioral interventions.

  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis to inform instruction and behavior plans.

  • Physical intervention may be required in behavior crises following district-approved methods.


Must hold (or be eligible to hold) the required certification 282 Teacher of Students with Disabilities Grades K-8.
