Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable, and hands-on Technology Coordinator to oversee, maintain, and support technology systems across School Union #93 year round. This includes managing our student information system (PowerSchool), supporting district and school websites, maintaining secure network infrastructure, and offering both technical and strategic guidance to individual schools and the central office.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Maine Department of Education certification appropriate to technology coordination preferred.

  • Strong proficiency with:

    • Student Information Systems (PowerSchool Premier/Oracle-based systems, Infinite Campus)

    • Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows client/server environments

    • Network infrastructure and security protocols

  • Experience with website maintenance and design

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and support a wide range of users

Key Responsibilities:

  • PowerSchool Administration: Maintain and support PowerSchool, manage server updates, user training, troubleshooting, and state reporting.

  • Website Management: Maintain and regularly update the district website (schoolunion93.org), including layout, backups, user access, and redesigns as needed.

  • Network Infrastructure: Ensure security and functionality of servers and network systems across the Union; maintain audit-ready backup and update systems.

  • End-User Support: Provide technical support to Central Office staff and fill in as needed for school-based technology support personnel.

  • Email Systems: Manage email groups and assist users with access and configuration issues.

  • Technical Advising: Provide guidance to schools and administration on technology-related decisions, tools, and compliance.

  • Compliance: Assist with MSLN and MLTI documentation and adherence to program standards.

  • Planning & Budgeting: Collaborate with the Superintendent and Business Manager on the Central Office technology budget and oversee the Union-wide technology plan and acceptable use policy.
