ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR

Mid-Maine Technical Center is a regional, technical high school serving 11th and 12th grade students from Lawrence, Messalonskee, Waterville, and Winslow High Schools. MMTC offers twenty-four technical courses that prepare students for post-secondary education and employment by providing instruction and practical experiences through industry-recognized curricula.

 

THE ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM

The Electrical Technology program follows the Core and Electrical Level I curriculum developed by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). Students completing the Electrical Technology program are eligible to earn Maine Journeyman 576-hour coursework, Maine Electrical Helpers License, NEC 45-hour Code Course, 10-hour OSHA card, and 3 college credits through Eastern Maine Community College.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teaching high school students in a comprehensive Electrical Technology program using approved standards and curriculum.
  • Establishing and maintaining professional, collaborative relationships with community partners including local industry, state and industry training organizations, and colleges.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master Electrician’s License, Maine or reciprocal state
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with colleagues, students, families, and community partners.
  • Professional, cooperative, and respectful of the beliefs, opinions, and confidentiality of others.

 

THE INSTRUCTOR POSITION

  • School year position (183 days, including in-service days)
