Elementary Instructional Coach - Math

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

• Support the instructional development of teachers in understanding the Maine State Learning Results, district curriculum, assessments, and data analysis in Math
• Provide direction and coordination for how the curriculum is taught in a way that is consistent with district initiatives and recognized best instructional practices
• Build strong relationships with teachers, administrators, and other coaches
• Assist teachers with resources, materials, tools, informatioin, etc. to support classroom instruction and planning, including new resources
• Support teacher and administrators in using data to improve instruction on all levels
• Assist teachers with planning and pacing of lessons, the development of differentiated lessons, and the selection of best practices to meet the needs of their students
• Develop staff members' knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviours through a variety of professional development topics
• Model lessons in classrooms
• Develop coaching plans for teachers
• Motivate teachers as learners to improve professional practice
• Three years of classroom teaching experience - preferred
• 020 or 092 certification - required
