50-Day Contract/per school year and expenses. Expectation of 1 full day per week at the school.
Long Island School is a small, independent PreK-5 school located in Casco Bay. Long Island School presently has tuition agreements with Portland for its middle school and high school students, and in return receives PreK-5 tuition students from Great Diamond Island.
The Long Island School Board is looking for an experienced part-time superintendent/principal who will be responsible for, among other tasks:
- Overseeing all students Pre- K through 5
- Monitoring placements for all students Grades 6-12
- Managing the school operations with the assistance of a full time Lead Teacher
- Supervising and evaluating a small professional and paraprofessional staff
- Supervising all aspects of teaching and learning
- Developing and updating appropriate policies
- Completing all State and Federal reports
- Developing and monitoring a fiscally responsible budget
Terms of Employment: Beginning December 1, 2025 or as soon after as practical; part-time flexible hours, salary regionally competitive.
