Full-time, 10-month salaried position available August 1, 2025.

Summary
The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of the field of science, including both physical and life science-related fields. More specifically, demonstrated experience in coursework covering genetics, nutrition, medical microbiology, or comparable advanced science classes is of highest interest. The candidate will have a familiarity with a range of resources in the teaching of science, including curriculum development, as well as proven ability to successfully guide students of all academic backgrounds to foster academic confidence and success. This position requires a passionate educator who can create a dynamic learning environment where students are encouraged to think critically and increase their college readiness. Participation as an assistant coach or other extracurricular opportunity may be required.

Essential Functions

Reporting to the Dean of Academics the Science Teacher will:

  • Teach 4-5 courses each semester, for two semesters (full year).
  • Assistant coach athletic team or leader for extracurricular activities (intramurals or outdoor experiences).
  • Serve as an advisor for a small group of students.
  • Supervision of evening study hall, dormitories, weekend campus activities (valid driver’s license required).

Qualifications and Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or STEM related fields. Master’s degree which allows for potential to teach College Articulation Program (CAP) classes preferred. 
  • Two or more years of experience in a related professional environment is preferred. Experience with independent schools or colleges is beneficial.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. 
  • Strong understanding of, and appreciation for, the motivation and mindset of the emerging young adult male student.
  • Commitment to our students, faculty, and the mission of our Academy.
  • Collegiality, intellectual curiosity, a willingness to listen, as well as the ability to exercise patience, collaborate, and innovate.
  • Experience as a student-athlete or coach is not required but beneficial.
