Location: Atlantic Academy, Camden, ME

Full-Time | Year-Round | Starting August, 2025

Are you a BCBA or an aspiring behavior analyst passionate about serving youth at-risk?

Atlantic Academy, a unique nonprofit school and behavioral health day treatment program in beautiful Midcoast Maine, is seeking a Behavior Analyst to join our growing clinical team. This position is ideal for a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or a qualified candidate actively pursuing supervision and BACB certification. We are looking for someone eager to apply the basic principles of behavior to support our at-risk student population, while also incorporating mindfulness and values-based approaches to help students, staff, and the broader school community move towards meaningful outcomes.

We serve students with emotional and behavioral challenges, often coming from backgrounds with multiple Adverse Childhood Experiences. Our work is rooted in applied behavior analysis, direct instruction, experiential education, and third-wave behavioral approaches, including ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), DBT, and mindfulness-based CBT. We’re looking for a team member who is curious, collaborative, and eager to learn how to apply behavior analysis with flexibility, compassion, and evidence-based integrity.

What You’ll Do:

  • Conduct functional behavioral assessments, and interpret findings in alignment with BACB ethical guidelines

  • Design, implement, and supervise individualized behavior-analytic interventions

  • Support transitions for students entering and exiting the program, and collaborate with public school teams and families

  • Provide training and supervision to our BHPs (Behavioral Health Professionals)

  • Develop and oversee goal-directed training sequences and data systems to measure meaningful outcomes

  • Participate in IEP/ITP meetings and support data-driven special education programming

  • Contribute to a positive, resilient, and learning-focused clinical culture

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • A graduate degree in behavior analysis, psychology, education, or related field

  • National certification as a BCBA or are in pursuit of BCBA supervision and eligibility

  • 3–5 years of experience in school or clinical settings, preferably with special education or at-risk youth

  • Familiarity or interest in ACT, DBT, or other third-wave approaches

  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships across teams

  • Experience with trauma-informed care and managing high-intensity or unsafe behaviors

  • Knowledge of IEP development and special education compliance

What We Offer:

  • A values-driven and supportive work environment grounded in collaboration and innovation

  • Very competitive salary
  • 8 weeks of paid time off

  • Health stipend and 401(k) with employer match

  • Ongoing education/professional development support

  • The opportunity to help shape a growing program with long-term impact on Maine’s most vulnerable students

Who We Are:

Atlantic Academy and its clinical partner, Atlantic Behavioral Services, provide school-based and community-based behavioral health treatment across the state. Our mission is to support students in developing the skills and resilience they need to thrive in the least restrictive setting possible.
