MaineCare Billing & Provider Enrollment Specialist
Central Office – Rockland, ME
Regional School Unit 13 is looking for a full time MaineCare Billing & Provider Enrollment Specialist to be responsible for facilitating billing and provider enrollment tasks associated with eligible services provided to identified special education students. This position is non-aligned.
Responsibilities include;
- Working with RSU13 contracted and/or employee providers of special education services.
- Performing MaineCare billing duties.
- Performing MaineCare account reconciliation and verification of billing and related receivable activities.
- Working with student/family to determine MaineCare eligibility and verify available coverage.
- Creating reports relating to MaineCare billing and collection activities at regular intervals as determined by the Business Manager.
- Working with transportation vendors to bill for MaineCare eligible student transportation activities.
- Working with Special Education office coordinator to organize and schedule all individual education plans (IEP) for designated special education PreK students (ages 3-5).
- Other duties as assigned.
Pay is commensurate with experience.
Qualifications: An associate degree is desired for this position, preferably with an emphasis in business administration, accounting, or health care billing; or a minimum of one to three years of experience with accounts payable/receivable in an education business office environment is preferred. Knowledge of Special Education programming is a bonus.

- Proven ability to multitask with excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage time with little supervision
- Maintain patient confidentiality as per the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
