Anticipated CTE Coordinator
St. George Municipal School Unit (MSU) is a community school and the heart and strength of our school is the community of St. George. The district serves approximately 310 students; about 210 students attend PreK – 8th grade at St. George School and almost 100 St. George students in 9th – 12th grade enjoy high school choice. St. George MSU is partnering with the MidCoast School of Technology to develop a PreK-12 Career & Technical Education (CTE) program and construct a CTE/Makerspace Building next to St. George School. The new building will have shop spaces for boatbuilding, woodworking, and metal work; a Makerspace with 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers, robotics, and sewing machines; as well as a flexible classroom space. St. George MSU is looking for a CTE Coordinator who will work with our Technology & Makerspace Director to support classroom teachers in utilizing the CTE/Makerspace Building; oversee and manage the shop spaces in the new building; assist teachers with integrating CTE into their curriculum; facilitate high school and adult education programming; and assist with the management, coordination, and implementation of technology at St. George MSU. The ideal candidate will have advanced technical skills; experience in traditional trades as well as with new technologies; the ability to work with students, teachers, and adults in both a traditional and technical education environment; strong collaboration skills to engage with learners of all ages, local businesses, and nonprofits; and a demonstrated commitment to workplace safety. Applicants must hold a Maine DOE Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) authorization. Applications will be accepted until a suitable candidate is found.
