Job Posting: School Nurse

Maranacook Community Middle School  

RSU # 38 is looking to hire a full-time school nurse to join the knowledgeable, patient, and passionate group of professionals at Maranacook Community Middle School.

Job Goal: To provide the fullest educational opportunity for students by identifying and preventing student health problems, by minimizing absence due to illness, and by creating a climate of health and well-being at district elementary schools. The school nurse will provide medical and health interventions for students and will provide expertise and oversight of school health service.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and a valid license to practice professional nursing in the State of Maine.
  • Three years of experience as a nurse (one year has to be within the last five years).
  • Demonstrates knowledge of current research, theory, and practice relating to school nursing
  • Successful experience working with elementary level students.
  • A true desire to work collaboratively with administration, other professionals, students and parents in order to support students.

Certification: School Nurse (524) K-12 by the Maine Department of Education (or able to obtain).
