The Westbrook School Department is seeking a full-time, permanent Literacy Intervention Teacher at Westbrook Middle School. The Literacy Intervention Teacher is responsible for providing targeted and specialized literacy instruction in scheduled pull out classes to students who are struggling with reading skills. This teacher plays a crucial role in identifying students who need extra support, developing personalized intervention plans, and implementing evidence-based strategies to help them improve their literacy skills. The goal is to enhance students' reading comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary, ultimately fostering their overall academic success.
Responsibilities include: assessment and data analysis, individualized and small group Intervention and progress monitoring. The successful candidate will have experience in literacy instruction, preferably with middle school-aged students, a strong knowledge of literacy assessment tools and data analysis and a familiarity with evidence-based literacy intervention strategies and differentiated instruction.
