ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Educational Leadership
- Establish and maintain a positive school climate that enhances teaching and learning
- Lead curriculum development and implementation aligned with Maine's Learning Results
- Guide instructional improvement through effective supervision and evaluation
- Inspire and motivate staff to achieve the highest standards of educational excellence
Community Engagement
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and community members
- Serve as liaison between the school and the community
- Foster understanding and support for school objectives and programs
- Interpret and implement school policies and procedures
Administrative Excellence
- Oversee school operations, budget, and resource allocation
- Supervise and evaluate all administrative, certified, and support staff
- Maintain high standards of student conduct with fair, consistent discipline
- Lead school improvement initiatives
Professional Development
- Facilitate meaningful professional growth opportunities for all staff
- Stay current with educational trends, research, and best practices
- Contribute to district-wide initiatives and administrative team efforts
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Maine Department of Education Building Administrator Certificate 040 or ability to obtain within three years
- Successful experience in an educational leadership role
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong supervision and evaluation abilities
- Elementary classroom teaching experience
- Working knowledge of elementary curriculum and assessment
Desired:
- Understanding of and respect for tribal culture and communities
- Demonstrated success in improving student achievement
- Experience with data-driven decision making
- Proven ability to build a positive school culture
