2025-26 PreK Ed Tech - Patricia A. Duran School
- Full-time, school-year position, 7 hours / day
- Rate of pay based upon year’s experience in public schools and Educational Technician authorization level) with sick leave and health insurance benefits
- Candidate must hold or be eligible for MDOE Educational Technician Authorization
Qualifications:
- Ed Tech Authorization from the Maine Dept of Education
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Performance Responsibilities
- Participates in daily and long-range lesson and classroom activity planning when appropriate.
- Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned programs.
- Assists in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs.
- Assists with classroom behavioral management to minimize disruptions, ensure a safe and orderly classroom, and ensure that students are on task.
- Provide behavior interventions when necessary and directed by teacher or administrator.
- Provides escort and assistance to students as necessary.
- Assists with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance.
- Assists students with non-instructional areas, such as supervision lunch programs, bus duty, playground duty, hall duty and other non-instructional areas as assigned.
- Accompanies students on field trips for the purpose of assisting with supervision.
- Assists teacher in maintaining neat work and study areas.
- Collects and displays suitable material for educational displays. Constructs, copies and uses educational materials as needed.
- Follows applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities or other special needs.
- Provides classroom coverage when needed.
