2025-26 PreK Ed Tech - Patricia A. Duran School

  • Full-time, school-year position, 7 hours / day
  • Rate of pay based upon year’s experience in public schools and Educational Technician authorization level) with sick leave and health insurance benefits
  • Candidate must hold or be eligible for MDOE Educational Technician Authorization

Qualifications:          

  1. Ed Tech Authorization from the Maine Dept of Education
  2. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Performance Responsibilities

  1. Participates in daily and long-range lesson and classroom activity planning when appropriate.
  2. Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned programs.
  3. Assists in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs.
  4. Assists with classroom behavioral management to minimize disruptions, ensure a safe and orderly classroom, and ensure that students are on task.
  5. Provide behavior interventions when necessary and directed by teacher or administrator.
  6. Provides escort and assistance to students as necessary.
  7. Assists with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance.
  8. Assists students with non-instructional areas, such as supervision lunch programs, bus duty, playground duty, hall duty and other non-instructional areas as assigned.
  9. Accompanies students on field trips for the purpose of assisting with supervision.
  10. Assists teacher in maintaining neat work and study areas.
  11. Collects and displays suitable material for educational displays. Constructs, copies and uses educational materials as needed.
  12. Follows applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities or other special needs.
  13. Provides classroom coverage when needed.
