Special Education Teacher – Functional Life Skills Program

Maine Central Institute is seeking an energetic, team-oriented Special Education Teacher for
our 9–12 Functional Life Skills Program for the 2025-2026 school year. This position is
responsible for meeting both the academic and social/emotional needs of students, and for
collaborating closely with related service providers, staff, and families.

Qualifications & Responsibilities:
282 (or 286) Endorsement preferred
Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills
Ability to be flexible and manage caseloads
Deliver specially designed instruction in ELA, Math, Science and History
Implement and manage IEPs
Track academic and functional progress
Experience with behavior plans preferred
Regular communication with families and service providers
