RSU 1 is seeking an elementary academic interventionist to teach both literacy and math in grades K-2 at Dike-Newell School beginning with the 2026-2027 school year.  Suitable candidates will become part of a dynamic MTSS support team and will work closely with colleagues to analyze data and provide interventions to students with deficits in the area of reading and/or math.  

Qualifications:

• Experience working with grades K-2
• Awareness and knowledge of skills in a variety of Tier I and II academic programming options
• Plan, design, and implement programming focused on literacy and math skills
• Provide direct instruction and support for students with identified Tier I and II needs in whole-class, small group, and/or individual settings for math and literacy instruction
• Participate in MTSS process for analyzing and using student data to identify students in need of direct intervention and support
• Utilize progress monitoring data to assess the effectiveness of intervention practices that are tried
• Assist teams with grouping placements and organizing intervention time within the daily schedule
• Use a variety of measures assess, collect data, and progress monitor student growth and achievement
• Communicate with families about student plans and progress, as well as complete all intervention paperwork and documentation
• Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Certification:

• General Elementary Teaching Certificate (020), and a Master’s of Education is preferred
• Current Criminal History Records Check (CHRC)
