PLAY is hiring a full-time teacher to join our small multi-age preschool in Portland, ME. PLAY is a Reggio-Emilia inspired program with a focus on art and nature based play. The ideal candidate will be expected to implement a developmentally appropriate learning environment through play based activities and enjoy messy play in all weather!

PLAY operates on an academic calendar: Late August 2025- Mid-June 2026. Position begins 8/25/25.

Monday- Friday: 7:00am- 3:30pm

Create a safe and inviting play-based learning environment.

Reggio Emilia experience preferred, but not required.

Employment Details & Requirements:

• Annual Salary depending on experience and education
• Range $38,000- $55,000 
• State of Maine Monthly Bonus: 
• Tier 1: Level 1-4 $240
  Tier 2: Level 5, Level 6 $360
  Tier 3: Level 7, Level 8 $540
• Early childhood experience required
• Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in Child Development or Early Childhood Education preferred  
• Member of Maine Roads to Quality (MRTQ)
• Fingerprinted /Background check required
• CPR/First Aid certification
