Position: EMT & Firefighting Instructor

Rate of Pay:  2025-2026 Per contract: Based on Experience and Education. 

Position Information:  

The Capital Area Technical Center (CATC) located in Augusta, Maine has an opening for an EMT and/or Firefighting Instructor for the 2025-2026 school year. Ideal candidates would teach one section of the EMT (afternoon session) and one section of Firefighting (morning session).  Half time candidates for each portion of the position may be considered.

Full time, 5 days per week; 8 am - 3pm.

EMT & FIREFIGHTING INSTRUCTOR

Desired Qualifications:

      • Minimum of three years’ of successful Experience working in the EMT/Firefighting field within the last five years
      • National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians CertificationEMS Instructor Coordinator and Maine Fire Instructor I & II
      • Teaching and/or other experience working with students
      • Ability to work with CATC staff and high school students and community groups
      • Good communication, organizational, leadership, and critical thinking skills
      • Certified or eligible and willing to obtain Maine Department of Education Certification (803 & 804) > see chapter 15, Part II Update, page 39-40 – https://www.maine.gov/doe/cert/requirements
