This is a 50% position. This position can be combined with an open half-time position at MA (English, math, or technology/business) as a full-time position.
Position Description:
We are seeking a student-centered educator to serve as our MTSS Coordinator. The Coordinator will facilitate all aspects of the development of the MTSS program schoolwide and support implementation of the MTSS process. The Coordinator works with school staff, students, and parents/guardians to provide high quality instruction that supports all learners in meeting rigorous standards. The candidate will also teach one or two elective courses based on their experience, knowledge, and certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Works directly with teachers, administrators, counselors and social worker to facilitate the effective implementation of the MTSS program.
- Work with school staff to ensure implementation fidelity of Tier I, Tier II and Tier III interventions/supports and ensure high quality progress monitoring for students receiving these supports.
- Collects and analyzes data to assist teachers, determines instructional needs and strategies to provide to each student.
- Conducts and models data meetings for each grade level to determine instructional groups/strategies for students.
- Assists teachers with instructional planning: instructional strategies, small group and/or blended learning instruction strategies, assisting with differentiation.
- Assists with the development of individual student intervention templates and plans.
- Develop professional development sessions aimed at targeted areas of school and teacher need.
- Provides informal feedback to teachers regarding data collection, analysis, instruction planning, instructional delivery, and student assessment development and collection.
- Demonstrates knowledge of content and has strong, appropriate pedagogical skills.
- Contributes to and assists in the development of professional learning communities.
- Remains informed of research findings and recent trends in MTSS.
- Effectively models in class lessons in research based instructional practices.
- Develop effective MTSS training materials.
- Assists teachers in the development of screening, diagnostic and progress monitoring.
- Organizes time effectively and is self-directed.
- Understands the complexity of school schedules and has experience building out programs through scheduling.
- Creates and sustains cooperative relationships with all stakeholders.
- Communicate with families to support student success and facilitate a school/home partnership.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills in the process of continuous improvement.
- Always maintains appropriate confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred), preferably in English, math, psychology, curriculum and assessment, counseling, or special education
- Must hold (or be eligible to hold) the required certification
- MTSS experience preferred
- Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) certification
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- A passion for working with high school students and supporting their goals
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Start Date: 2025-2026 School Year
Salary: Based on teacher position experience and in accordance with the wage scale in the 2024-25 Teachers Collective Bargaining Agreement: (Step 1) BA 42,597.33- (Step 23 MA+15) 78,130.69. The complete contract year is 182 days. (Note: 2025-28 CBA is currently being negotiated)
