21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) Program Director

Ellsworth School Department • K–12 After-School & Summer Programming

Are you passionate about student enrichment, community partnerships, and high-impact programming beyond the school day? The Ellsworth School Department is seeking a motivated and skilled Program Director to lead our federally funded 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) program. This is a unique opportunity to shape dynamic academic and enrichment opportunities for students in grades K–12 across Ellsworth Elementary Middle School and Ellsworth High School—after school and throughout the summer.  This is a full time position.

What You’ll Do:

 Design & Lead High-Quality Programs

  • Collaborate with administrators, educators and students to build engaging academic and enrichment offerings.
  • Oversee daily operations of after-school and summer programs.
  • Coordinate schedules, staffing, and logistics across K–12.

 Support & Supervise Staff

  • Recruit, onboard, and support a diverse team of instructors and staff.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional program culture.

 Track Progress & Report Impact

  • Monitor attendance and program participation.
  • Evaluate effectiveness and prepare reports required by the grant.

 Manage Budget & Ensure Compliance

  • Oversee program budget and ensure alignment with federal grant guidelines.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and records.

 Engage with Community & Partners

  • Build strong relationships with families, local organizations, and stakeholders.
  • Represent the program at state and regional events and trainings.

 Lead for the Future

  • Develop strategies to promote, sustain, and grow the program.
  • Pursue future funding opportunities and partnerships.

 

Applicants must hold a valid Maine teaching certificate, and a bachelor’s degree is required.  Applicants must also have the following:

  • Background in education, youth development, or program leadership
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
