 SKCDC is seeking candidates to fill the following position in its Early Care and Education Program: 

Health/Nutrition Manager

This is a full time salaried position who performs professional services work of a managerial nature in planning, coordinating, directing, and evaluating the Agency’s health and nutrition program and supervising administrative/technical staff.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to implementing Agency programs, policies and systems; assisting in the development of support staff; assessing content area services; and ensuring compliance with established performance standards and other federal, state, and Agency laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. 

 

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably related to one or more of the disciplines the position oversees and a minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in a related field (including the knowledge of children’s health, nutrition, supervisor or lead worker responsibilities). A Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) with unencumbered R.N. License preferred or nutrition or health related field.

 

Experience and Skill Requirements: 

  • At least five (5) years of progressively-responsible, related experience at a management level.
  • At least three (3) years of prior supervisory experience.
  • Ability to direct, oversee, and evaluate the work of others, to evaluate service delivery operations; to collect and analyze information, reach logical conclusions and make sound decisions and recommendations; to discuss and explain methods, policies, corrective measures, and procedures; to communicate effectively orally and in writing, including report writing; to participate fully in the planning, development, oversight and evaluation of Agency programs; to implement program policies, goals and objectives; to develop and implement a computerized data management system; to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state and laws, rules, regulations, and licensing requirements; of Agency programs, policies, procedures, and guidelines; of child health and immunization best practices and services available; of federal/state health and nutrition standards and best practices for children, of staff development theories and principles; of modern management theory, principles, and practices; of resource development and planning practices and techniques.
  • Knowledge of screening/assessment, monitoring, and/or case review methods, practices and techniques;
  • Must possess a valid Maine driver’s license with a good driving record and must have an adequately insured vehicle, if conducting Agency business.
