Food Service Manager

MSAD 55 is seeking a full-time Food Service Manager at Sacopee Valley Elementary School.  Sacopee Valley Elementary School is a PK-3 school with approximately 350 students with approximately 80% of students eating daily.  This position is Monday – Friday from 6:15 am – 1:00 pm.  This position includes benefits and health insurance. 

General responsibilities include:

• Providing ongoing evaluation of daily operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
• Overseeing the receiving, storing, handling, preparing, and serving of food according to established specifications and procedures.
• Assuring that sanitation and safety standards in all phases of the school food service operations meet established standards.
• Maintaining accurate production records.
• Ordering food and supplies needed for the operation of the program in a cost-effective manner. 
• Preparing meals and assisting with serving breakfast and lunch. 
• Supervising food service assistants and coordinating with food service director.

• Be enthusiastic about working in an elementary school environment and coordinating fun and creative meals that promote a life-long healthy lifestyle.
• Have successful experience in food preparation.
• Be proficient in use of technology including point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills.
• Have strong communication skills and be able to communicate with staff, parents, vendors, and students in a positive, professional, and courteous manner.
• Be motivated, goal orientated, and dependable.
• Have Serve Safe Certification or will complete.
• Have a current or will apply for a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) from Maine Department of Education.
