Job Description / Responsibilities: We are seeking an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher to support our program. This position will report directly to the Director of Special Education and Director of Early Childhood Services.

Duties include, but are not limited:
- Supervising Ed. Tech's / behavioral health professional (BHP) staff working directly with children/clients;
- Providing instruction to children in the inclusive classroom setting;
- Meeting with IEP / clinical teams of students and their families;
- Facilitating meetings to support children who require special education and/or clinical services;
- Planning, coordinating and overseeing the delivery of services in the classroom; and
- Collaborating with the regular classroom teacher to ensure optimal inclusion of all students.
In addition, the position will have the opportunity to grow based on program and service growth.

Skills & Qualifications
This position shall hold the below skills & qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or related field;
- Must hold or seek a valid Maine DOE & DHHS CHRC and MDOE 282 / 286 Certification;
- Experience in Special Education or related services;
- Strong communication and team-building skills;
- Ability to work independently & as a team;
- Knowledge of policies/regulations in special education;
- Willingness to learn and seek answers to solve problems and implement solutions; and
- Willingness to complete training INCLUDING First Aid / CPR Certification; and Safety Care
Recommended (All The Above AND the following):
- Experience in leading a special education classroom OR program;
- Master’s Degree in Special Education or related field; and
- Experience in the early childhood setting.
