RSU 9 is continually recruiting substitutes in the following areas:

• Bus Driver
• Custodian

Employment cannot be finalized until the applicant has completed requirements for a complete background check and fingerprinting as required by Maine State Statute. Please see the information below to complete the process with the Maine Department of Education.

Who Must be Fingerprinted?

- Anyone who works for a school district that is over 18 years old

- Anyone who is contracted through a school district

What do I need to be Fingerprinted?

 Step 1:

• Create a MEIS account.   
  • Go to https://www.maine.gov/doe/cert/fingerprinting for instructions on how to create a MEIS account
• Step 2:
• Register at https://me.ibtfingerprint.com/ to make your fingerprints appointment. ($55 fee) 
• Step 3:
• Submit a new application for CHRC. ($15 fee)

How often do I need to be Fingerprinted?

 Every 5 years, unless you have been continuously employed for the last 5 years by a Maine school district.

• **Coaches and Substitute Teachers must be fingerprinted every 5 years, regardless of continuous employment. 

What is the status of my Fingerprints?

Go to https://www.maine.gov/doe/cert/status. You will need to provide your last name and last 4 digits of your Social Security Number
