We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic educator to join our team in a unique dual role as a Physical Education Teacher for three days a week and a Special Education Educational Technician III for two days a week.
Position Overview:
This is a full-time position that combines two essential roles with our school:
1. Physical Education Teacher (3Days/Week)
Develop and implement an engaging and age-appropriate PE curriculum for students in Pre-K through Grade 8.
Foster a love of movement, teamwork, and lifelong fitness in students.
Promote sportsmanship, inclusion, and positive social interactions through physical activity.
Maintain a safe and structured environment for all students.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to support student wellness.
2. Special Education Educational Technician III (2 Days/Week)
Provide instructional support and accommodations for students with special needs under the direction of special education teachers.
Work one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce learning, behavior, and social-emotional skills.
Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support student progress monitoring.
Assist with classroom modifications, adaptations, and inclusive practices.
Communicate effectively with teachers, specialists, and families to support student success.
Qualifications:
For PE Teacher Role:
Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Education, or a related field preferred.
Experience teaching physical education to a range of ages (Pre-K-Grade 8) is desirable.
Strong classroom management and the ability to create an engaging, active learning environment.
For Educational Technician III Role:
Educational Technician III certification (or eligibility) required.
Experience working with students with special needs in an education setting.
Understanding of IEPs, differentiated instruction, and behavioral interventions.
General Qualifications:
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Passion for working with children in both academic and physical education settings.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse students needs.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
