Falmouth Public Schools seeks a compassionate and dedicated Elementary Therapeutic Intervention Program Teacher to join our team this fall. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education and a passion for supporting elementary school students with emotional and behavioral challenges. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing individualized support, implementing therapeutic interventions, and fostering a nurturing learning environment for our students.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with elementary school students with emotional and behavioral challenges.
- Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques and interventions for supporting students with diverse needs.
- Experience working in a therapeutic intervention program or similar setting.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, families, and community partners.
- Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive school culture that values diversity and celebrates student success.
- Certification or training in trauma-informed practices, social-emotional learning, or behavioral interventions.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing special education services.
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), Provide direct instruction, Implement therapeutic interventions, Monitor progress and adjust interventions, Collaborate with colleagues and families, Create a positive and supportive learning environment, and Participate in professional development.
Must hold (or be eligible to hold) the required certification 282 Teacher of Students with Disabilities, Grades K-8. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, Behavior Analysis, or a related field required.
