JOB DESCRIPTION: Technology Support Assistant
Nature of the Position
As a member of the Thornton Academy Helpdesk team, the Technology Support Assistant provides
comprehensive technology support to faculty, staff, and students across campus. This role includes
troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues, delivering direct assistance, and ensuring timely
and effective resolution of technology concerns. The position operates under the guidance of the technology
department team and contributes to maintaining high standards of service throughout the school.
Accountability
The Technology Support Assistant reports directly to the Director of Technology.
Job Requirements
We are seeking a candidate who:
?Is outgoing, personable, and able to work constructively with faculty, students, and colleagues
?Communicates clearly and professionally
?Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail
?Can manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and work both independently and collaboratively
?Possesses a working knowledge of:
?Apple iPads and computers
?Google Apps (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets)
?Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience working in a school setting and comfort in classroom environments is preferred.
Performance Responsibilities
Representative responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
?Serving as a responsive and available resource for faculty and students
?Providing technology support in offices, classrooms, and on-campus residential settings
?Offering assistance via remote support, phone, and in-person visits
?Supporting major Technology Office initiatives (e.g., device collection, distribution, updates)
?Participating as a collaborative member of the technology team
?Completing additional IT projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Technology, Associate Head, or Headmaster
Preferred Skills
While not required, the following skills are considered a plus:
?Basic knowledge of the PowerSchool SIS
?Experience with Google Workspace domain administration
?Familiarity with Windows configuration and management
?Experience managing Apple devices with an MDM platform (preferably JAMF)
?Experience with Cisco and Meraki network devices
